Tips for Choosing a Ghostwriter for Your Articles and Web Content!

By: Missy Deskins Copyright January 2011 – All Star Content

Article writing doesn’t have to be as difficult as some people make it out to be. As long as you have something to write about, you can come up with good article ideas. Sure, you will experience writer’s block on occasion, which is why you should have a ghostwriter on hand who will write the content for you when you are unable to do so.

How do you hire a ghostwriter, though? How can you determine whether or not a particular writer will create quality content?

Here are a few tips for choosing a writer for any web content or article project:

1. Hire somebody who knows a lot about your niche. Ask to see samples of relevant articles he or she has written in the past. An individual who is knowledgeable about your niche will know exactly in which direction to take the articles, and will be able to complete the project within a short amount of time.

2. Hire a writer who is a native English speaker. If you are trying to promote products or services in the US, Canada, Australia, or UK, then you will need sales pages written by someone who knows how to “speak” to the audience.

3. Your ideal content provider should be someone who doesn’t try to hide anything. He or she should be willing to talk to you via Skype or instant messaging. Also, writers who are willing to upload their photos to their profile pages tend to be more trustworthy than those who do not.

4. Don’t go with the cheapest writer you come across. While some good writers do charge fair rates, you should be careful around the ones that are willing to work for extremely cheap prices. If they charge less than .01 a word, then they are probably having trouble acquiring work.

5. Hire someone who understands the importance of search engine optimization (SEO) and keyword usage. Filling an article with the same keyword(s) over and over again will get your site backlisted from Google. A good writer will know which keywords to use and the number of times to use each keyword.

Keep in mind that there are thousands of people around the world who claim to be “writers”, yet the vast majority of them are unable to produce unique, well-written content in English. Some even copy and paste bits and pieces of other articles and try to pass everything off as unique! As long as you follow the 5 aforementioned tips, you should be able to find an excellent ghostwriter.

8 Social Marketing Media Mistakes to Avoid if You Want to Succeed at Internet Marketing

8 Social Marketing Media Mistakes to Avoid if You Want to Succeed at Internet Marketing

Social media can provide online businesses with numerous opportunities and benefits. However, not all companies are prepared to take on this new, innovative realm of marketing. While it’s simple in theory, not all web entrepreneurs are savvy enough to create viral-worthy content. And even when they do create great videos, articles, ebooks, podcasts, etc, they don’t promote the content properly.

Different companies are going to have different experiences with social media marketing. One strategy might work for a particular niche, yet not for other niches. While the fundamentals are pretty much the same for any type of company or guru, a unique approach and strategic planning is required for each individual or company involved in online marketing.

In order to plan and implement a social media marketing strategy, certain mistakes need to be avoided. There are costly pitfalls that all online entrepreneurs should avoid in order to get on the right track. These pitfalls only lead to counter productiveness rather than success.

If you are an online marketer, here are the most common (and costly) mistakes that you can make regarding social networking:

Social Media Marketing Mistake # 1

Trying to Sell to Everyone Immediately

For some reason, people don’t realize that trying to sell through social media sites can be considered spam. It is never “okay” to advertise to “friends” on Twitter, Facebook, MySpace, etc, without first developing a relationship to them. People want to be friends with those whom they can trust. You need to earn their trust by offering tips and advice, answering their questions, involving yourself in discussions and debates about the niche, etc. As they come to get to know you, they will consider you to be an expert.

As a result? They will visit your site on their own to learn more about your company and products.

Social Media Marketing Mistake #2

Trying to Befriend Too Many People

This happens all too often: somebody creates a new social networking account, and tries to befriend everybody under the sun. Sure, while it’s important to get the word out about a new company or product, you’ll only be wasting your time befriending (or following, in Twitter’s case) everybody. You need to connect with those who actually care about the niche. The great thing about social media networking is that it brings together people with similar interests. Thus, go for quality, rather than quantity, in regards to your social networking relationships. Only befriend those who can benefit your company, whether b2b or consumer wise.

Social Media Marketing Mistake #3

Being Inconsistent

The point of social media networking is establishing your presence on the web. You need to create awareness for your brand. The key to doing this is consistency. Don’t go experimenting with different layouts for all of your accounts. They should all have a similar appearance. All of the account elements, including the layout, photos, language, and content needs to be consistent with your overall strategy.

This also includes the messages that you post – never flip flop on any issue, or your followers will start to question your sincerity and legitimacy. How can they come to trust someone who is never consistent?

Social Media Marketing Mistake #4

Trying the Exact Same Strategy on Every Site

You can try different approaches at different sites without being inconsistent and contradictory. Just as long as you keep the same image, you can try different approaches with your marketing strategy. For instance, you can get away with doing some things on the Facebook platform that just won’t work on the Twitter platform. Learn the nuances of each individual social media site and market yourself accordingly.

Social Media Marketing Mistake #5

Feeding the Trolls

Don't Feed the Troll

Sometimes people will leave not-so-positive comments on your profile or blog. More often than not, the comments come from anonymous flamers who just want to be jackasses for the sake of being jackasses. The best thing to do is not bother with them at all. Although it might be hard to do, you need to ignore them completely and don’t let them get to you.

Instead of responding with a negative comment back, or trying to defend your brand, continue putting up MORE useful content. If they seem to have a problem with your content, put up even more. Yet, don’t engage your naysayers (or jackass commenters) directly.

Social Media Marketing Mistake #6

Being a Troll Yourself

Sometimes people come off to trolls without meaning to. If you don’t want to be accused of being one, then make sure you understand the definition. If you want to debate, start a debate thread. Don’t disrupt other people’s discussions just to get attention. If you disagree with someone, tell them as politely as possible, and provide them with reasons why you feel the way you do. Afterwards, don’t just disappear – come back and read their response. Make sure you abide by all the rules, and try to be as engaging as possible without resorting to rudeness.

Social Media Marketing Mistake #7

Not Having Separate Business and Personal Accounts

It’s important to focus on your niche. If you ever want to participate in something unrelated to your niche, you need to create a personal account. Your company can’t have something for everyone, hence the importance of focusing on a targeted audience. For instance, if you run a lawn and garden business, you can’t just join in discussion about indoor electronics. If you want to talk about which brand of LCD TVs you prefer, do so with your personal account. Trying to participate in every discussion under the sun will only make your profile look confusing to potential customers.

Social Media Marketing Mistake #8

Not Updating Regularly

In order for social media marketing to work, you must login every day and contribute SOMETHING, whether it’s tips, a how-to guide, advice, solutions, ideas, images, and so forth. Sure, all it takes is one, good video or article to go viral, but if you want long-term results, you need to keep putting original material up on a regular basis. While you’re at it, take the time to complete your profile. Many people only fill out the basics and expect results. The more information you put up about yourself and company, the more trustworthy and genuine you will appear to be.

Conclusion

Avoid making these 8 mistakes for a successful social media marketing campaign!

Affiliate Marketing Profits – 5 Tips for Making Money Online as a Successful Affiliate

Affiliate marketing is a great way to make money online. However, it requires a great deal of effort, time, and hard work in order to be a successful endeavor. If you’ve been trying to make money as an affiliate marketer, you’re probably aware that it’s not easy. If you’re new to this form of marketing altogether, then you need to know which steps to follow in order to be successful.

No matter your level of experience, here are some tips to help you start making real profits with affiliate marketing:

  1. Make sure you build a good website. Even if you’re not selling your own products or services, you must still run your own site. It needs to have its own domain, with a major keyword as part of the URL. The site should have a neat layout that is easy to navigate through. Put up original content, including tips and informative articles. Make them as unique as possible so that your site will stand out amongst those of competitors.
  2. Write reviews of everything you are promoting. First of all, never, ever try to promote something that you wouldn’t use yourself. Second, many companies allow affiliates to sample the products for free. Some give out special offers just for affiliate marketers. Take advantage of these offers and write detailed reviews of the products. You can place the reviews on your site or submit them to article directories.
  3. Learn to promote your website through various means. Don’t just try one traffic generation technique for affiliate marketing. Try multiple strategies and keep with them. Once you find out which methods work, be persistent with them. Take successful strategies to the next level and work longer and harder to increase the results.
  4. Join forums, message boards, and communities about the niche. Participate in threads and put in your two cents. Just make sure you don’t spam – you can have your URL listed in your signature line. Always post important, useful information in your messages. Make people interested in what you have to say. If the message board ranks high in Google, then your posts could be potentially read by many people.
  5. ALWAYS be doing something! If you’re in front of your computer, you need to be doing something –ANYTHING – that concerns affiliate marketing. Whether it’s research, article writing, message posting, fixing up your website, etc, you need to be persistent with your efforts. Even if you’re not getting the affiliate profits you want right now, by working hard, you’ll become better at what you’re doing. The more experience you get, the more successful you’ll be in the future.

Follow these affiliate marketing tips and you’ll eventually make money online! Affiliate marketing is a long-term strategy, so you should never expect to make profits overnight. As long as you persevere, however, you will eventually be a successful affiliate!

SEO Tips — All About Optimizing Your Site for the Search Engines

How do you optimize your website for ranking high in the search engines? This is a question to which every webmaster and blogger would love to know the answer. Setting up a site or blog isn’t hard at all. The hard part is promoting a website or blog. A lot of time and effort needs to be spent on maintaining an online business and search engine optimization.

If you’re a webmaster and want to make money online, you need to get people to visit your website. You could create the best page in the world, but it will be worthless if nobody ever sees it! There are billions of other web pages out on the world wide web, so if you want people to see yours, you need to learn about SEO and other marketing techniques.

Internet users all use search engines everyday to find all the information they need about any subject. All one has to do is type in a word or phrase and POOF! Countless results will show up. In order to provide users exactly what they want, webmasters must prepare and optimize their sites for the search engines. As easy as it is to search for a website, it’s quite the opposite to create and maintain one.

The sites that appear on the first page or two of Google’s search results are the most visited ones. It can be really hard for other pages to compete. In order to get to the top of the list, you need to prepare your site as best you can. Here are some SEO tips:

• Stick with short, easy keywords. Internet users aren’t going to waste their time typing in a keyword phase more than a few words long. They’re not always specific, either. They will type a few, short general words regarding the type of information they’re searching. As such, you need to optimize your webpage with the simplest keywords possible.

• Add a few misspelled keywords on your site as well. Sometimes people get in a hurry when searching and make a typo. Some people just don’t know how to spell altogether. You don’t want to add too many misspelled keywords, though, as you don’t want them to make your site appear less professional. Try making them appear as if they’re just typos.

• Have A LOT of content on your site! The more content you have, the better. However, it needs to be well written and informative. Break the articles down into sections and use bullet points whenever possible. It’s easier for people to read lists than it is to read paragraphs. Also, make the keyword placement appear natural. Don’t go overboard with them. Your visitors will want to read ABOUT the keywords—not the keywords themselves.

• Getting a bunch of backlinks is important. Add as many internal links as you can. Make sure all of your pages are interlinked. The anchor text should consist of important keywords. A few external links won’t hurt either, just as long as those sites contain backlinks to yours.

• Don’t forget that some people might find your site through Google image searches. Name all of the pictures and graphics on your website with keywords. Even the small graphics such as dividers should have descriptive names and tags.

• Don’t forget about the title and name of each page. You’ll be surprised at the number of webmasters who forget to add keywords to the title! Also, name each and every page of your site with keywords. If you’re writing a review on a book about small business success, save the page as yoursite.com/small_business_success.html.

Follow all of these tips in order to optimize your site for the search engines and hopefully you’ll end up with a top ranking! Keep in mind that SEO can take months to work, so you shouldn’t expect organic overnight. However, following the aforementioned tips will help speed things up.

6 Internet Success Tips for Making a Good Site and Getting Traffic

Internet success requires a lot of hard work and consistency. You can’t just throw up a website and expect the money to start rolling in. Building a website is only the first step—you must also PROMOTE it! You could build the most amazing site in the world, but doing so won’t do you any good unless somebody actually sees it. This is why it’s crucial to learn about online promotion techniques and to create a marketing plan.

Here are some tips for creating a good online marketing plan.

1. The world wide web is still a new medium when compared to print and television. As such, your site should be original and creative. It shouldn’t just rehash something that’s already been seen before. Internet success is something that requires innovation and creativity. Put interactive tools on your site, such as polls, surveys, message board, etc. Turn your “little spot on the web” into something that people will enjoy!

2. Create the site for your customers, not your company. Online promotion strategies work best when the focus is placed solely on the consumer. Only post content that is useful for your visitors. Don’t brag about your company too much, or you will only turn visitors away. Add content that will help the customer, not hype your company. They come to your site because they are interested in the niche, so provide them with interesting, unique content that will serve their needs.

3. Update regularly and keep up with the current news regarding the niche. This will encourage visitors to bookmark your site. If they see that you update on a regular basis with all the latest news, they will be more likely to visit again in the future. Internet success requires a great deal of consistency. Don’t just sit back and expect to make money on autopilot. You need to actively be involved in your niche every single day.

4. While it’s important to make your site attractive, don’t go overboard with the graphics and eye candy. In other words, don’t use graphics just for the sake of using them. Not everybody has a good computer and fast internet connection. You don’t want to alienate potential consumers just because you want to include a lot of graphics on your site. At the same time, however, you don’t want your web page to be boring. It’s okay to spice the site up a bit, just make sure it loads quickly and is easy to navigate through. Your internet success will depend on how well your website is built.

5. Capture your visitors’ email addresses and create a mailing list. Building a list of contacts is an essential online promotion strategy. Now, you can’t simply send out spam to people, so you will need them to willingly opt-in to your list. There are a number of ways to do this, but the easiest is to offer them something in return, such as a free ebook or tool. You could also host a contest and give visitors a chance to opt-in to your list when they enter to win.

6. Learn about online promotion techniques and market your site externally. Try getting valuable back links; do some article marketing; try a PPC (pay-per-click) campaign; participate in internet forums and social networking sites; etc. Also, once you begin building your email list, send out a weekly or monthly newsletter. The content within should be original, informative, and well-organized. Impress your readers, and they will want to learn more about your company. Conversely, if you DON’T impress them, they will unsubscribe from your list and forget about your company.

Follow these tips for internet success. Whether you’re selling your own products, or working as an affiliate, you must create a great website. Furthermore, you need to promote it and build a mailing list in order to spread the word about your company. Hopefully, if you are persistent AND consistent with your online promotion tactics, you will start making a lot of money online!
